Linda Rodin is known for many things. There is, of course, the must-have Olio Lusso oil that first put her niche beauty line on the map (now found in every stylish medicine cabinet from here to Paris). Then, there’s her amazing personal style that has made her the ultimate influencer and muse to many a luxury brand (she starred in The Row’s pre-fall 2014 lookbook). And not least, her signature look that features little else but rounded tortoise-shell glasses and a bright, bold red lip. So it should come as little surprise that after selling her company to Estee Lauder in 2014, Rodin is taking the next step into the world of color cosmetics, starting naturally with a line of lipsticks.
According to Vogue.com, Rodin incorporated her signature blend of 11 oils to create a “beautiful texture that’s creamy and matte,” she said. After many hours, the formula also wears down to a long-lasting stain. Rodin looked to a variety of influences in honing each shade. There’s Billie on the Bike, a raspberry hue inspired by her mother Beatrice. Red Hedy serves as an homage to screen star Hedy Lamarr, while vibrant Tough Tomato and So Mod, a neutral nude, nods to movie stars of the 1960’s like Marisa Berenson and Brigitte Bardot. Then there’s Winks, a bold pink named for her poodle Winkie.
We love these lipsticks as much as our other Rodin products. Just launched, they are available to order here.
