My first ritual of the morning is...

"sitting with tea. I fill my kettle with fresh water, whispering words of love and gratitude into it. I then open a tin from Global Tea Hut ("Spirit" a shou puerh tea) and inhale the scent of the leaves.

I sit on a meditation cushion and sheepskin from WMN Space and create a chaxi (tea stage) with a slab of petrified wood, a stone, and a flower.

I steep the tea leaves in a handmade pot from Peter Kuo and serve myself several bowls in silence.

This morning practice centers me for the day and leaves me feeling calm, awake and connected."

Whether a morning meditation or afternoon cup of tea, the rituals we practice serve us more than we realize. They are our life’s bookends, moments we rely on and enjoy. For women especially, these small ceremonies are what gets us through the day. At A Wild Dove, we are so inspired by rituals, that we’ve asked some of our favorite mamas to share their smallest, most celebrated acts that help them feel their best.
