Sara Daly Roter is a partner in design studio Banfi Zambrelli, where she launches accessories collections with seasonal concepts and trends and directs color and materials through global partners. She spends considerable time in Europe, sourcing, developing and manufacturing. Sara lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
In 2007 Sara underwent an experience that would forever shape her future, her passions and gave her a newfound perspective on life. With a strong family history of breast cancer, Sara tested positive for the genetic mutation BRCA1. She opted for a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy that July. In the days leading up to her surgery and afterwards, she found solace and therapy through Bright Pink, a national nonprofit organization focused on saving women’s lives from breast and ovarian cancer. She found that the more she spoke with other young women at high risk, the more she wanted to get involved with the organization that helped her realize she was not alone. After completing reconstruction the following November, Sara felt empowered and eager to bring the organization to New York City. She became the New York ambassador for Bright Pink to help raise awareness for other women. Knowing she has two little girls of her own, she is hoping the knowledge and advances in research will continue to make an impact.
