Swim Style for the Tot Set

Written & Photographed by A Wild Dove

We admit it’s only fall, but we’re already setting our sights on our next warm weather holiday (our favorite way to ward off the cold weather blues). Daydreaming does a body good! Nothing distracts us from fear of the deep freeze like a little off-season swimwear shopping (yes, we’re in denial). While we’ve thoroughly perused the chic one-piece trend for our own benefit, we’ve also been on the lookout for boys’ swim bottoms—easier said than done if you’re in search of something fresh. Girls’ swimwear may have more variety, but thanks to a couple of outside-the-box brands, we’ve managed to find some super cute European short styles for our little studs. Typically, we eschew the idea that boys need to be in knee-skimming board shorts for a day at the beach. Maybe we’re secretly French, but we like our guys’ swim looks to border more on Biarritz than Venice. We also love a great rash guard that can save us the time and energy of reapplying sunscreen all afternoon. And don’t forget bright colors, clever patterns, and high design details! From head-to-toe, here are a few of our favorite swim pieces for boys, just in time to take your mind off the temperature:

NuNuNu half & half Rashguard - With its edgy, asymmetrical design, this black and white rash guard is primed to be the coolest piece on the beach.

GardnerandtheGang Swimpants in Turquoise - A sweet play on the brand’s logo in a vibrant beach hue.

GardnerandtheGang Swimpants Gertrude Light Yellow - Who doesn’t love Gertrude the Giraffe? Here’s another cute swim print for your lil’ dude by one of our favorite brands.

Beau Loves Inky Hero Mask Towel - The perfect towel for your favorite pint-sized superhero, whether they’re saving lives or preparing to cannonball.
